Xflam Product Demonstration

Fire Retardance

The following video footage demonstrates the fire retardant properties of Xflam.

What happens initially when the burner comes on is a flare up of the exposed polystyrene.  The syntactic foam matrix forms a protective carbon honeycomb, which insulates the rest from the heat, There is no further spread of the fire.

There is some surface erosion of the honeycomb by the flame but when the flame is extinguished all burning ceases and the fire retarded foam prevents re-ignition.

The burner was a propane/butane gas - suitable for gas welding.
